“Here I Am To Worship – Part 1:  Hands Up!”

1O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;
    my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
    as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
    beholding your power and glory.
Because your steadfast love is better than life,
    my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
    in your name I will lift up my hands.

Psalm 63:1-4

  1. He Doesn’t Exist For me, I Exist For Him.

Genesis 1:27:

27 So God created man in his own image,
    in the image of God he created him;
    male and female he created them.

Imago Dei

Revelation 4:11:

11 “Worthy are you, our Lord and God,
    to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
    and by your will they existed and were created.”

Matthew 2:1-2:

1 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”

  1. Worship Isn’t Just What I Do, It’s Who I Am.

Psalm 95:6:

          Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
            let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!

Hebrews12:28:

28 Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,

Romans 12:1-2:

1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers,  by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

TAKE AWAY OF THE DAY:

Worship him Because He is Good, not just when things are good.

Psalm 63:4

So I will bless you as long as I live;
    in your name I will lift up my hands.

Exodus 17:10-13;

10 So Joshua did as Moses told him, and fought with Amalek, while Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. 11 Whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, and whenever he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed. 12 But Moses' hands grew weary, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it, while Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. So his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. 13 And Joshua overwhelmed Amalek and his people with the sword.
